Hokage Hojicha Powder

Hokage is a hojicha powder from Uji, Kyoto, produced by Wakokoro using organically grown tea leaves. The careful roasting process brings out the full character of this hojicha, developed for lovers of a deeper and more intense flavour.

The flavour profile is powerful and smoky, with an earthy bitterness that suits the high roast. This hojicha is not intended as a light or delicate tea—it is precisely its intensity that allows it to shine, especially when combined with milk.

This hojicha powder is unsweetened and is best enjoyed in milk-based drinks. When combined with milk, oat milk or soya milk, the roasted notes become softer and rounder, resulting in a full-bodied and warming hojicha latte.

Less suitable for preparation with water alone, as the flavour develops better when combined with a creamy base.
