Looking for a refreshing drink that's naturally sweet, creamy and easy to make? This Matcha Banana Latte recipe combines vibrant matcha with frozen banana and your favourite milk to create a café-worthy treat in under 10 minutes.

Perfect for warm days or an afternoon pick-me-up, this iced latte delivers a smooth, balanced energy boost thanks to matcha's natural combination of caffeine and L-theanine. The banana adds a velvety texture and natural sweetness, making it a delicious treat you can feel good about.

Tip: Don't have a frozen banana? A ripe fresh banana works too. Simply add a few extra ice cubes for a chilled, creamy latte.

Ingredients

  • 3g matcha (about 1 teaspoon)
  • ½ frozen banana / fresh banana
  • 100ml milk of choice (oat, dairy, soy or almond)
  • 50ml water (heated to 80°C)
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 teaspoon honey, maple syrup or vanilla syrup (optional)

Instructions

How to Make a Matcha Banana Latte

Step 1: Prepare the Matcha

  1. Sift 3g of matcha using a matcha sieve into a matcha bowl to remove any clumps.
  2. Pour in 50ml of water heated to around 80°C and whisk in a zigzag (M or W) motion until the matcha is smooth and frothy.
  3. Add your choice of milk and mix together.

Step 2: Blend the banana

Add the frozen banana and milk to a blender. Blend for 30–60 seconds until smooth and creamy.

Using a fresh banana instead? Add a handful of ice cubes to achieve the same chilled, creamy texture.

Step 3: Assemble the Matcha Banana Latte

  1. Fill a serving glass with ice cubes.
  2. Slowly pour the freshly whisked matcha.
  3. Pour in the blended banana milk over the top to create beautiful layers.
  4. Add your syrup of choice (Optional)
  5. Stir well before drinking and enjoy!
